• Will this work on my vehicle
• The ScanGauge 3 will work on all 1996 and newer OBD2 cars and light trucks. It will not work on diesel pusher motorhomes or over-the-road long haul trucks with 9/6 pin round connectors.
• Will this show "_____" gauge?
• Not all vehicles report every sensor even if the vehicle has a sensor. Some are tied directly to a warning light and do not feed the data to the OBD2 system. Please ask us directly if there is something specific you are looking for.
• Doesn't turn on automatically
• Sometimes caused by aging battery or aftermarket lithium battery. Set to COMPATIBILITY setting: From home press MORE then SETUP and ADVANCED tab at the top. Scroll to COMPATIBILITY and press EDIT. Change the wake voltage to LOW. Update to latest firmware.
• Nothing Displayed/No Backlight
• This is usually caused by a blown fuse in the vehicle. The OBD2 commonly uses the cigarette lighter or accesory fuse. Check this one first.
• Problem clearing trouble codes
• When clearing codes it is usually best and sometimes required for the engine to be OFF but the key to be in the ON position. For push button start vehicles press the ON button with your foot off of the brake. Update to latest firmware.
